Living in Dallas has been an enjoyable experience. It's been interesting to have such a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds and parts of the country involved in this program. Additionally, I have enjoyed learning from all levels within the company — Center team members, fellow program participants, Center managers and even executives. This has provided great insight into corporate strategy, executive vision and branch operations from various points of view. I have been encouraged seeing the enthusiasm and goals of the executives gain momentum as they spread throughout the company. I was delighted to be at a recent Center meeting where my manager used a quote from the CEO to inspire our team's performance.
On completion of the training program, I plan on pursuing positions along the field operations path and possibly moving to the corporate office down the road. Eventually, I hope to take all the experience I gain from FedEx Kinko's and open my own business.
To future participants, FedEx Kinko's offers a great opportunity you won't find at many companies. Most people have to wait years for the kind of training and work experience FedEx Kinko's is willing to give qualified recruits right out of college. One year's experience in the Leadership Development Program is equivalent to three to four years anywhere else.
